Tunnel Scan

Tunnel Scan is a comprehensive solution for monitoring railway tunnels, metro systems, bridge underpasses, underground passages and galleries. It is ideal for routine inspections, maintenance planning, dimensional analysis, or post-event structural assessments.

The Tunnel Scan (TS) system by ADTS sets a new standard in tunnel inspection, providing high-resolution imaging and 3D profiling in a single acquisition pass.

ADTS Tunnel Scan captures tunnel walls at 1 mm resolution, both longitudinally and transversally, while operating at speeds up to 60 km/h. The entire structure is digitized in one pass, ensuring fast, accurate and complete data acquisition.

How it works

Tunnel Scan combines lighting, imaging and laser scanning to acquire a full digital representation of the tunnel environment. High-power LEDs illuminate the tunnel interior, allowing line-scan cameras to capture fine surface details while a phase-based laser scanner simultaneously maps the 3D geometry. This synchronized process delivers a seamless, high-fidelity scan of the tunnel in real time.

Devices

  • Illuminators: High-power LED lighting system arranged in a radial layout; the combination of multiple units ensures uniform illumination.
  • Camera Box: High-resolution imaging unit with radially mounted line-scan cameras.
  • Profiler: Phase-based laser scanner with 360° field of view and helicoidal scan pattern; provides high-speed, high-precision 3D profiling.
