IAF Münster 2025 – Showcasing Innovation in Track Monitoring

ADTS took part in the IAF fair in Münster, one of the most important international exhibitions for railway technology and infrastructure diagnostics.

The event provided a valuable opportunity to connect with industry professionals, exchange ideas and present the latest innovations in railway monitoring systems and AI-based component detection solutions.

New Solutions on Display

During the fair, ADTS presented two key innovations developed for advanced track inspection:

HRS - Surface Inspection with AI-Powered Defect Detection

The HRS (High Resolution Surface) device is engineered to provide continuous visual inspection of the railway track using line-scan cameras and illumination units.
Mounted on board diagnostic vehicles, it can scan the rail surface, fasteners, sleepers, fishplates and ballast with high-resolution imaging, even at high speeds and in low-light conditions.

What truly sets this system apart is the integration of a dedicated software platform developed by ADTS for automated defect recognition.

Thanks to an embedded AI engine, the software can detect and classify:

  • Rail surface defects: scratches, cracks, corrosion

  • Fishplate anomalies: fractures, missing bolts, displacement

  • Fastener issues: torsion errors, missing or damaged components

  • Sleeper defects: breakage, misalignment, degradation

  • Ballast problems: contamination, loss of compaction, intrusion on track

This allows infrastructure managers to process large volumes of data automatically, focusing attention only where anomalies are detected and significantly reducing post-inspection effort.
